Chances are if you've done some digging into the prices of gaming chairs, you've found that they tend to run fairly pricey. Some popular models, such as the Tank Series or Boss Series by DXRacer, can run as high as $599, while their full-grain leather Drifting Series has a retail price of $699. While these might be excellent chairs and worth the price if you require their specifications, there are much cheaper options available. It is most important to know what you need (or don't need) out of your gaming chair, and if you don't require a 400 lb. weight limit, or armrests that are somehow capable of moving in 4 dimensions, then there is a cheaper gaming chair out there waiting for you. We have put together this list to bring you the best cheap gaming chairs on the market.
For a chair to make this list, it must be under $250 at the time of writing and average 4/5 stars or higher in online reviews.
Devoko Ergonomic Gaming Chair
The Devoko gaming chair is a PU leather design, featuring a high backrest to support your neck and shoulders, an included headrest and lumbar support cushion for a more ergonomic sitting position, a full 360 degrees of swivel rotation with mute wheels, plus 180 degrees of recline for relaxing after a long gaming or working session. The chair supports a height of up to around 6'3, and a weight up to 300 lbs, which is fantastic considering a lot of more expensive chairs support less than this. The racing style of the chair matches with the style of other, more expensive chairs on the market, without sacrificing the quality of the build of the chair. The seat height can be adjusted from 16"-20", which most users will find to be an adequate seat height.
As for drawbacks, some customers have mentioned that their Devoko chair has had issues with parts malfunctioning, or the chair breaking after using for a short time. Fortunately the manufacturer is good about honoring their warranty, which includes 6 months of replacement for any damaged or defective parts. In all the cases we found of customers complaining about this, the manufacturer handled their issue. Another complaint that people have about this chair is a lack of padding. We tend to hear this complaint more for gaming chairs that offer PU instead of mesh, as the PU tends to create a thicker barrier between the pad and the user, making it feel a bit more stiff. The last drawback is that the armrests are not adjustable, and some users find them to be positioned a bit lower than they would like.
All things considered, the Devoko gaming chair is a good chair for the price, and if you can get past the non-adjustable armrests and are happy with PU over mesh, this is a great gaming chair to purchase that won't break the bank.

Homall Gaming Chair
The Homall gaming chair has been the top performer on the market for cheap gaming chairs for quite some time now. It is our pick for best cheap gaming chair of the year, and it is easy to see why when you compare the specs to other models. Just like the Devoko gaming chair, the Homall can support up to 300 lbs. in weight and a height of up to around 6'3". They both feature PU leather and interior foam, but the Homall has the Devoko beat on the backrest dimensions and adjustable seat height. Overall the differences aren't hugely noticeable, but someone who is 6'3" or taller may very well appreciate the differences in backrest and adjustable seat height.
As for the drawbacks for the Homall gaming chair, some people find the design to be less appealing than the Devoko gaming chair. The Homall chair lacks the logo on the headrest which some people prefer, and others dislike. For an office setting, it may be preferred to lack branding on your office chairs, but many gamers enjoy the look and color of the logos. This chair also suffers complaints about the level of comfort due to the padding being less than desirable, and the manufacturer seems to be less responsive than Devoko in the event that your chair does have an issue, although their warranty is technically longer, lasting a year for parts replacement.
Overall, the Homall gaming chair is a great pick due to the extended backrest and higher maximum seat height than similar models. It also comes in black, red or blue, so you have more color variety to choose from.

Furmax Gaming Chair With Footrest
The Furmax gaming chair with footrest is a great option if you are looking for an upgrade from the previous 2 models we've discussed, but aren't looking to spend much more. The Furmax footrest gaming chair is better in just about every way, offering adjustable armrests (up and down), a slightly larger seat, a wider and taller backrest, and a built-in footrest for greater comfort when you sit back or recline, which pairs well with the 180 degree max recline the chair offers. This chair still has the wing tips on the bucket seat which some users find uncomfortable, but they aren't as pronounced and the cushion of the chair is a bit thicker than other models.
It is important to note that the footrest included is adequate and better than not having one at all, but it should be treated with care - many customers put too much weight down on it and find that it bends or even breaks after extended use. It isn't meant for too much abuse - just an added benefit to put your feet up when you recline. Another complaint we hear a lot about the Furmax footrest gaming chair is that the seat cushion is a bit firm. This tends to be the case with a lot of these cheaper PU models. Spending a bit of extra money can get you a chair with enhanced padding, or even higher quality memory foam.
Despite these issues we still think the Furmax footrest gaming chair is a good choice as long as you can be gentle with the footrest, and maybe consider throwing a small blanket or thin cushion down on the seat if you find it to be too firm.

Killabee Big and Tall Memory Foam Gaming Chair
The KillaBee big and tall memory foam gaming chair is on the pricier end of this list, but it would be very remiss of us not to include it. One of the first things you will notice about the Killabee memory foam gaming chair is the flat-style seat. A lot of gaming chairs have wing tips on the sides of the bucket seat to create a more racing-style, streamlined look, but most customers find them to be very uncomfortable. We personally prefer the flat-style that this Killabee gaming chair offers. And in case it isn't obvious from the name of this chair, this is one of few chairs on the market that includes a memory foam seat cushion and lumbar pillow, making this one of the softer, more comfortable gaming chairs currently available.
In addition to the comfort benefits this chair offers, it also offers a wider seat, taller backrest and higher adjustable seat height than similar models, offering a much better design for big & tall users. The armrests are adjustable in 3 dimensions, and the multi-functional mechanism has the option for 20 degrees of rock, or 155 degrees of recline. There isn't much negative to say about this chair, it is high on our list of recommended gaming chairs. It is worth noting that the backrest has wings on the left and right (while the bucket seat doesn't) which is sort of a design flaw for larger users. The memory foam lumbar cushion helps to avoid this problem, however.
